Dried oranges - why we love them!

Who doesn't love the burnt orange pop of rustic colour that those perfectly dried orange rounds bring. It's the natural element for us that we find brings balance and calm to our cakes, not to mention they're also super on trend at the mo so that helps! :)

These little puppies are so easy to make we always have a stash on hand - Friday night cocktail anyone?? We particularly love using them at Christmas to bring that rustic touch and have you tried sprinkling them with a bit of cinnamon sugar? Warming festive aroma central! 

Simply cut em up, dry in the oven on about 100c for 5 hours or so and voila, perfectly dried orange rounds to use for your decorating delight. Don't rush this step and think you can speed it up with more heat, trust us, we've learnt the hard way! We particularly love ours as that extra special rustic touch to our Chocoholic cake to celebrate that someone special in your life.
